Sign Studio was established in 1989 providing signage traditionally done by hand. In the 1990's the introduction of computer technology changed the industry considerably and the addition of self adhesive lettering becoming the standard. The next big step to revolutionise the sign industry was digital print (printing directly on to self adhesive vinyl).
Investing in this technology was the path to take, initially in solvent based printers then changing to Latex printing (environmentaly friendly waterbased inks) which gives more accurate and vibrant prints. As time has passed, a resergence in the interest of more traditional methods of sign production has emerged (signwriting and gold-leafing). To accommodate this we are running courses for those who may wish to learn the art of signwriting - whether it be for commercial or hobby use.
These classes are based at our premises in Bramley, Surrey.

I have contacted those people who kindly gave me their contact details quite a while ago in forming them of the up and coming evening classes.
On the first Thursday evening we will look at brush control and the technique of getting those nice sharpe corners on lettering.
The following Thursday evening we can look at freestyle lettering which is using a more flowing technique.
We had great fun on our first signwriting course of 2016, practicing brush control and letter forms.
After a light lunch we continued with honing our signwriting skills.
