The integration of Variable Message Signs Limited (VMSL) and Techspan Systems brought together two of the leading UK LED display suppliers, creating a stronger business with a broad product range and an extensive technical capability.
Following the acquisition of VMSL in 2014, Hill & Smith Limited realised the opportunity to create a world class provider of variable message signs and systems as part of its HS Roads Technology Division. The new combined business now operates under the name of Variable Message Signs and can comfortably claim to have one of the largest installed bases of equipment in the UK highways sector.
VMS delivers the highest levels of service and support from two locations in Hebburn and Aylesbury. To achieve these objectives Variable Message Signs is certified to EN 12966 and has an approved ISO9001 Quality Management System, ISO14001 and OHSAS18001 which are subject to tri-annual re-certification and six monthly surveillance visits by an external accredited organisation; VMS use BSI for the certification process.
