Swift Signs
Good Directions Ltd is a family owned British company founded in 1988 which now has a worldwide reputation for the design, manufacture and installation of Exterior Clocks, Roof Turrets, GRP Structures and Copper Rainwater Systems. Architectural features created by us can be found in nearly every city throughout the UK and in many other countries.

Incorporating signage into one of our products was often requested by customers and in 2001 we decided to take over local signage company 'Swift Signs' to be able to have our own experienced in house team of designers and installers to expand the products and services which we could offer. In 2011 the Company acquired a local engineering and fabrication company, including their seven highly skilled staff and state-of-the-art CNC machinery.

Not only can we fully support our own manufacturing needs but we service many other companies and industries both locally and across the UK including work for the construction, marine, horological, motorsport, motorcycle, medical, defence and rail industries.
Services
We have in-house design and manufacturing expertise and capabilities unrivalled by most of our competitors.
In addtion to our sign design and production services we offer a vast range of Exterior Clocks, Roof Turrets, Decorative Finials and GRP Features, we have also diversified over the years through expansion and aquisitions into other markets including, Guttering, Engineering and Street Furniture.
Shire Clocks offers a range of exterior and outdoor clocks as well as individual clock components to both the trade and public customers.
We produce signs for fixing directly to walls and fascias in an array of shapes and sizes.
Sign panels in foam pvc, acrylic and dibond composite material can be fitted directly to a wall, mounted in a powder coated aluminium frame or formed into a tray to add that finishing touch.
Where required acrylic sign panels can be illuminated from the rear by mounting them into a sign box or in the case of dibond panels the lettering can be cut out and inlaid with acrylic, both of which are then generally fitted out with LED strip lighting behind to make either the acrylic panel illuminate or the edge or face of the lettering set in the dibond.
We have production capabilities to produce a signage solution to suit virtually any location.
Lighting, movement control, as well as fully functioning clocks up to 6000mm in diameter and electronic bell chiming can be incorporated into our sign designs.
Due to our in-house capabilities we offer a full design and build service in an array of materials including soft and hard woods, all types of metal, fibreglass and glass, as well as traditional gilding and vinyl lettering.
Housing a sign or clock in a sign box or bezel allows for it to be illuminated from behind, or for a striking impact the illumination can be applied to the front with great effect.
Signage can be created in many ways.
The most common is vinyl lettering applied to a substrate such as foam pvc, acrylic or dibond which is a composite material.
Vinyls are produced in solid colours but where required they can be digitally printed to reproduce stunning clipart, toned and photographic images.
For that little something extra lettering and logos can be embellished with 23 1/2 carat gold leaf, cut out of a material such as aluminium to allow for spacing off a wall creating decorative shadows, or for the ultimate impact they can be built up into three dimensional forms.
We have been producing signage for over 20 years, building a reputation for the innovation and quality of our products as well as the high level of service we provide.
Many of the signs we create are illuminated to ensure that they are visible and generating you a better return for your money.
Illumination of a sign can be achieved in many ways to create visually stunning features, many of which are now created using low voltage LED lighting.
Our Design Team can help create a sign to suit your requirements, manufactured to any size and from virtually any material.
