Most smooth interior surfaces — painted plasterboard, smooth masonry, glass, wood and metal. Textured walls, rough masonry and heavily embossed wallpaper cause adhesion issues and aren’t suitable without preparation.
Removable wall vinyl is designed to peel off without damaging standard paint. However, very old paint, oil-based paint or paint over bare plasterboard can lift if the vinyl has been in place for many years.
Interior wall graphics in a normal commercial environment last 5–10+ years. UV exposure from nearby windows is the main cause of fade — this can be mitigated with UV-inhibiting laminate on the graphic.
