Reflective signs serve a specific and important purpose: they need to be visible in low-light conditions — at night, in poor weather, and in high-speed viewing situations. Whether you’re a Manchester construction company, a road maintenance contractor, a logistics business, or a rural venue with limited street lighting, reflective signage keeps people safe and your business visible.
Where Reflective Signs Are Used
The most common applications for reflective signs and vehicle graphics in Greater Manchester include: night-operating trade vehicles (builders, plumbers, delivery), plant machinery identification, construction site boundary markers, car park directional signs, rural venue and farm signage, and road closure and traffic management signs.
Grades of Reflective Material
Engineer Grade (EG): The minimum reflective standard, suitable for low-speed environments and premises signs. Typically used for car parks, site perimeter signs, and general wayfinding.
High Intensity (HIP): Suitable for higher-speed environments, vehicle identification, and most traffic management applications. 3–4x the reflectivity of Engineer Grade.
Diamond Grade: The highest reflectivity, required for major road signs and high-speed motorway applications. Not required for most commercial applications but available to order.
Reflective Vehicle Graphics
Chevron boards for vehicle rears, reflective side stripe kits, chapter 8 compliance graphics for highway maintenance vehicles, and emergency service-style high-visibility identification — all produced to the relevant BS and European standards.
